SINGING AND SWINGING PUBS BACK IN ACTION!
THE GUINNESS Singing & Swinging Pubs kicked into action over the weekend with some great performances.
Opera Festival launch night on Friday saw four pubs packed with punters who were treated to some delightful displays of singing, musical and, occasionally, comedic talent from local performers.
The crowds loved it and the bar was set high straight from the off, thanks to the excellent efforts of the teams in the Farmer's Kitchen (at the Drinagh Court hotel), the Wren's Nest, Central Station and Mooney's.
Saturday was the turn of near neighbours Kelly's and McDonald's, while Mary's Bar and Mary Jo's in Barntown had people tapping toes and singing along on Sunday night.
Over the last two nights the singing and swinging has been taking place in Maggie May's, Larkin's, Simon's, Chaz Bar, Culleton's and Thomas Moore Tavern. The popular competition has ensured there is no ' quiet' night in Wexford at the moment and it's set to stay that way for some time yet!
Adjudicator Tobie Hickey has his work cut out for him as there are nine more nights of action to go, with the Sailing Cot, The Sky and The Ground and the Ferrycarrig Hotel providing the line-up tonight (Wednesday).
