Wexford Hospice Homecare have received €5,150 from the Castle Vintage Club after a convoy of 35 tractors took to the roads and completed 250 km.

The proceeds were raised through a three-day tractor run, which started in Taghmon, then Gorey, Carlow, followed by Kilkenny, before returning back.

The cheque was handed over at the Castle Vintage annual barbecue that was held in Rochford's Pub, Camross, where more than 300 people enjoyed the evening, which was kindly sponsored by Wallace's SuperValu, Carol's Take Away, Country Kitchen, Alex Moran Tyres and Pool & Spa.

Chairperson of Castle Vintage Club Pat Monaghan said: 'We raised about €2,000 at our barbecue and that will be donated to a few local charities. Just want to thank Rochford's Pub for accommodating us.'
