Tributes paid to hotelier Paddy
HEARTFELT tributes have been paid this week to New Ross hotelier and businessman Paddy Quinn (69), who passed away on Sunday morning following an illness borne with great courage and dignity.
Paddy was a family man, a businessman, a social entrepreneur, a philanthropist and a great deal more besides during a life dedicated to the greater good.
He was known throughout County Wexford for his successful businesses PJ Quinn Roofing and Cladding and the Brandon House Hotel, while he was also the driving force behind the JFK Trust and contributed generously to a vast array of organisations and charities in the New Ross area.
Seán Reidy, chief executive of the JFK Trust, described Paddy as 'a really exceptional man, with a big heart, a deep soul and a towering intellect'. Senator Jim Walsh said New Ross has lost 'one of the greatest champions this town has had'.
Paddy is survived by his loving wife Patricia and children Declan, Sandra and Patrick. His Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Mary and St Michael's Parish Church, New Ross, at 11 a.m. yesterday (Tuesday) with burial afterwards in St Stephen's Cemetery.
