Two women were fighting over man
'ISN'T IT everyman's dream to have two women fighting over him,' Judge Patrick Clyne remarked during the hearing of a case at Wexford District Court.
Jason Ryan (27), Ferndale Park was charged with engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour outside the courthouse in Ardcavan on May 9 last.
Inspector Pat McDonald said two females were involved in an altercation and the gardai were dealing with it.
The defendant who is currently serving a four-month prison sentence for burglary, got involved and started shouting threats to one of the women.
He was asked to desist and went back into the court.
Later, he became aggressive again, this time towards Garda Gallagher.
'Isn't your client lucky,' Judge Clyne told the defendant's solicitor.
''Isn't it every man's dream to have two women fighting over him?.'
The defendant admitted the offence and also pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary . The court heard that last June, he entered a house at Ballinablake, Curracloe and stole a laptop valued at €800 and he broke into another house at Shelmalier Commons and stole €20 cash and a gold chain.On the burglary charges, Judge Clyne sentenced him to two months in prison, suspended on condition that he sign a bond to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for two years.
He was also ordered to co-operate with the Probation Service and remain intoxicantfree in public places.
The court heard that the defendant is due to be released from prison on Decemb er 7.
Before passing sentence, Judge Clyne read a letter written by the defendant which his solicitor handed into the court.
The solicitor said he is hoping to get into Aiseiri.
