Wexford Soroptimists has raised €1,450 for It's Good 2 Talk, a local service which provides low cost counselling and support for those suffering from mental health issues.

Having presented the cheque to Rita Kelly of It's Good 2 Talk, Alma Hynes explained that she and her colleagues at the Soroptimists had held a coffee morning to raise funds for the service. 'It's a very important service and mental health is such a big issue in Wexford. We appreciate the work they do at It's Good 2 talk and we're always keen to help those in society who require assistance.'

And Alma revealed that this is the first of two much-needed donations to the counselling service in the coming months.

'It's also the chosen charity for Art in the Open festival which will take place in late July and early August,' she said. 'We've a very big name coming for that, he's the king of outdoor painting, we're already sold out for the end of July.'
