Welfare case adjourned
A MAN who claimed social welfare payments while he was working had his case further adjourned to June at Wexford District Court to allow him to continue making re-payments.
Thomas O'Brien, 80 Pineridge, Wexford has already paid €6,000 back to the Department of Social and Family Affairs, the State Solicitor Kevin O'Doherty told the court. Mr. O'Doherty said the case had been ongoing for a few years and the defendant had €1,600 left to pay. The defendant was charged with making representations to obtain social welfare while he was employed between October 2000 and April 2001.
