Wexford author Carmel Harrington is in the running for a national book award
Carmel Harrington is in the running for a prize in this year's Irish Book Awards as her book 'The Things I Should Have Told You' has made the shortlist.
Her recent novel is one of six books to be shortlisted for The Sunday Independent Newcomer of the Year prize along with authors Jess Kidd, EM Reapy, Vanessa Ronan, Austin Duffy and Paraic O'Donnell. The winner will be decided through the combination of an online web-poll and a specialist Academy vote. Carmel will discover whether she has won at the ceremony on November 16.
On learning of her nomination, Carmel said she is 'honoured and overwhelmed' to be included among so many incredible authors.
'The Things I Should Have Told You' was published on September 8 and is receiving rave reviews from authors like Hazel Gaynor describing it as 'a wonderfully life-affirming, heart warming book.
