THERE'S more than a little pure Wexford beef on the menu in the 2018 Irish Farmer Calendar, and it's all in the best possible taste.

Mr January and Mr June is Wexford farmer Seamus Carroll, from Crossabeg, and Mr February and Mr December is James Grannell, from Ballymurn, who join farmers-turned-models from Cork, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Roscommon, Derry and Dublin, spread across the remainder of the year.

The Irish Farmer Calendar, now in its ninth year, is selling like hot cakes is already on its way to buyers as far afield as the USA, Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa.

Proceeds raised by the calendar will go towards Bothar, which supports families and communities to overcome hunger and poverty around the world.

Seamus said described his modelling stint as 'a bit of fun for a good charity' but said he would stick to farming because 'it's a safer bet'.

As well as their farming, both Seamus, a former St Peter's boy, and James, who attended school at Enniscorthy CBS, are working as part-time teachers in Dublin.

Ciara Ryan, who produces the calendars, is already inviting applications for the 2019 calendar http://www.farmercalendar.com/apply_here.php
