Wexford Business Awards attract almost 100 entries

ALMOST 100 local businesses have submitted applications for the 2013 Wexford Business Awards.

Runners up and winners will be announced at the Buinsess Awards ceremony at White's Hotel on June 14.

The named of shortlisted companies will be published in next week's edition of this newspaper, which is the media sponsor of the awards.

'Wexford businesses are reliant on us to create an even stronger, more innovative, successful, regional, national, international and ethical business community - one that is the lifeblood of an increasingly growing local economy,' said Madeleine Quirke, CEO of Wexford Chamber.

'We aim to draw attention to and recognise our best businesses and what they are doing. We enable companies of all sizes and sectors to compare themselves and learn from each other and most importantly we encourage these companies to celebrate their successes. We recognise achievement, innovation and ethics within the Wexford business community, something that is demonstrated by the hundreds of applications we have received over the past four years,' she said.

Now in its 5th year, and a highly respected accolade for businesses in the county, the Wexford Business Awards has distinguished itself through a robust and fair judging process, with a strong panel of judges hailing from academia, industry leaders, government bodies, CEOs and senior directors.

The Wexford Business Awards consist of 15 separate categories ranging from Green Business through to Tourism and Retail. Wexford Chamber are proud to have the following sponsors and supporters, with Wexford County Council as lead sponsor of the Wexford Business of the Year Award:-

After dinner speaker this year is Irish broadcaster, actor and musician Aonghus McAnally one of the best known faces and voices in the entertainment business. Music on the night will be by Take it Easy and with such an excellent competition this year, the evening promises to be exciting with some winners no doubt going on to represent Wexford at national and possibly international level.
