Wexford fire fighters warn over stoves following fires
Wexford fire fighters have been called to several fires involving multi-fuel stoves over the past couple of weeks.
A fire service spokesman said two of them were particularly serious and involved hot gases from the stoves' flues going into the joists and setting fire to the roofs of the two homes.
The latest incident took place at Davidstown, Glynn, at 1.05 a.m. on Friday. The fire service appealed to people to fit a fire alarm in their roof spaces and to make sure that any stoves and their flues are fitted in accordance with the technical guidance document section J which is available on the environ.ie website.
