ACCESS (2000) Wexford Ltd celebrated International Womens Day on Monday (March 8) with a special announcement that its future was secure. Marian Donegan. from ACCESS 2000, said a new women's programme under the Department of Justice & Equality will give ACCESS long-term core funding, offering some continuity to the 17 NCCWN women's projects across Ireland.

Last year, ACCESS 2000 Wexford along with the other 16 NCCWN women's community development projects throughout the country began a year-long campaign to have the funding for the women's projects ring fenced. 'We are delighted that this campaign was successful,' said Marian, thanking everyone 'who supported our campaign locally, who wrote letters, signed petitions and who lobbied our local political representatives.
