Wexford musicians invited to apply for bursary

BANDS, musicians and songwriters are being invited to apply for a recording development bursary being offered by Orchard Recording in conjunction withthe Arts Department of Wexford County Council and the Arts Council.

This is the third year running that the bursary is being offered as part of the Room to Record music technology programme started by the county council in 2012 to enhance the opportunities available to Wexford's emerging musical talent.

'If you are preparing to record an album, embarking on your first recording experience or looking to increase your skill set within a recording studio environment you should apply,' said Paul Dowling, from Orchard Recording

Among past bursary recipients are well-known Wexford band 'Corner Boy'.

'This is an exciting opportunity for any musician or band to move from recording in the bedroom or garage to a professional studio with the expert support, guidance and production that Orchard Recordings provide,' said a county council spokesperson.
