Wexford school to perform 'Beauty and the Beast'
THERE will be a musical extravaganza in Scoil Mhuire, Coolcotts when 'Beauty and the Beast' is performed for three nights from tomorrow (Wednesday, June 21).
The school show, which will star the graduating class of 2017, is certain to be a show stopper and plans have been under way on the production for many months.
Kathy Kane, of Scoil Mhuire, said that 'every September, one of the first questions the new 6th class student ask is 'What show are we doing this year?' However, it's usually Christmas before the big announcement is made and script reading, auditions and rehearsals begin.
'By June, we are ready to wow our audiences, with sometimes 100 children on stage and almost every member of staff dragged in to help. Each year, everyone is convinced that they've seen the best show yet, and somehow the following year's show is just as full of talented performers, hard working actors, amazing singers and spirited team work.' 'Beauty and the Beast' looks set to be a visual and musical treat. The show runs Friday at 7.30 p.m. each night. Tickets are available from the school.
