Wexford students visit global investments company

By David Tucker

Wexford employees from global investments company BNY Mellon marked International Women's Day recently by visiting local secondary school Loreto and sharing their experiences with transition year students.

The very successful and well attended event, which was organised in association with Junior Achievement, saw 11 BNY Mellon employees volunteer their time to deliver a series of themed workshops to 70 fourth year students.

The workshops were designed to give the students an insight into a career in financial services - by replicating what it would be like to be an investor through a series of interactive activities - and outlined the importance of continuing on their educational path.

Participating students were presented with certificates of achievement in recognition of their participation in this International Women's Day event sponsored by BNY Mellon.

BNY Mellon was recently recognised as Corporate Philanthropist of the Year 2015 at the annual Philanthropist of the Year Awards hosted by The Community Foundation for Ireland.

The award was in recognition of the company's longstanding partnership with Wexford-based Acquired Brain Injury Ireland (ABI).
