Wexford stylist shines on international catwalk
Style savvy Jenny Cleary from Murrintown proved that she has what it takes rule the global fashion world when she came second in this year's Frankfurt Style Awards.
Jenny's handmade dress, which featured images of butterflies, cocoons and stairs based on a dream world, was what won the judges over at the final in Frankfurt on September 5.
The former Loreto student and fashion design graduate was totally shocked to be awarded €1,000 and her dream holiday to Dubai and the Maldives in the international design competition.
Jenny submitted her design to Frankfurt Style Awards last spring. The young hopeful then battled it out against approximately 350 other designers to reach the final with her design, called 'Freedom of Dreams'.
She not only flew the flag for Wexford, but also for Ireland, as she was the only Irish entrant to make it through to her category called 'Over the Rainbow'. A jury of ten, headed by International Designer Salavatore Di Bella, chose it for second place.
This isn't Jenny's first time mingling with the big shots in the fashion world.
Since she graduated from Griffith College in June, she has completed internships with Fee G and Penneys, during which she gained valuable experience in design and the fashion industry.
