Wexford town centre set for more disruption as gas works move on
MAJOR traffic disruption is on the cards in the heart of Wexford town for the next two weeks as Gas Networks Ireland continues to roll out the natural gas pipeline network.
There will be 'full road closure' from Cornmarket to the Bull Ring to Common Quay Street from today (Tuesday). No vehicle access will be allowed during the period although pedestrian access will be permitted.
'We will make every effort to reopen the roads at the weekend of March 25 and 26,' said a spokesperson for Gas Networks Ireland, although this to be confirmed.
During the same period there will be a stop and go system in force in Upper & Lower John Street.
Minor works will ne taking place on Distillery Road, Rosslare Road R730 - Drinagh South and in the Faythe, with stop and go systems in force. Apologising for any inconveniene caused by the works, Gas Networks Ireland said the working hours in all works in Wexford will be typically from 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
