Wexford urged to take part in Swim for a Mile challenge

By David Tucker

The Simon Community is urging the people of Wexford to take part in the Swim for a Mile Challenge organised by Swim Ireland which is due to take place in May.

The South East Simon Community said the project, which was initiated in 2014, will challenge members of the public to pledge to 'swim a mile' and help raise vital funds for its homeless services.

You can register to take part for just €25 at www.swimamile.com and avail of Swim Ireland's free swim training programs and free coaching clinics right up to the event which is due to take place from May 18 to 22 and is being supported by The Irish Times and Today FM.

Log on to www.swimamile.com to pick your local pool and register, on registration you will receive a sponsorship card to begin fundraising for the Simon Community.

Participating pools in the Wexford area include Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, Courtown Adventure and Leisure Centre, Waterfront Leisure Centre Enniscorthy and Whites Hotel Wexford. Take the plunge for the Simon Community and help to change the lives of others.
