Wexford water projects in focus at meetings

By David tucker

funding for local community water projects will be one of the topics for discussion at a series of public meetings discussing the county's 'water bodies' over the coming weeks.

The meetings will - in the context of the draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2018-2021 - provide an opportunity for people to have their say on issues affecting their local water bodies, streams, lakes or coastal waters.

They will outline what is included in the draft plan with details of how you can have some input into the final plan.

The water and communications office aims to get local communities more actively involved in protecting and enhancing their local water bodies and the meetings will provide an opportunity for local people to influence policy, local decisions and projects.

The meetings will take place: At the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, on May 16, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.; the Riverside Hotel, Enniscorthy, on May 18, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.; the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey, on May 23, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and the Talbot Hotel, Wexford, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on May 25.
