Young artists take inspiration from 'The Rocks'
Around Wexford Town
Three professional artists worked on a special art project with a group of young people who attend after school activities at the Southend Family Resource Centre in Maudlintown.
Kate Murphy, Nick Jarmin and Pavlina Kubelkova spent 10 weeks introducing students to a range or art making skills from drawing, painting and print-making to photography and sculpture.
The main focus of the project centred around the rejuvenation of 'The Rocks's public park in Maudlintown where nature trails and walking paths are being developed by Wexford County Council.
The young participants tried out a range of art processes and visited the Rocks to look at plants as an inspiration for the work, also calling to Wexford Arts Centre to view the Living Art exhibition.
The project was funded by Wexford Local Development and funded through the Arts Centre.
Among those taking part were Anthony Wilburn, Scott Gabbett, Jack Cullen, Christy Berry, Chloe Wilburn, Claire Wilburn, Rhianna Burke, Cora Byrne, Katie Still, Rhiann Reynolds, Catie Wilburn, Rose O' Leary, Lauren Still, Sophie Lawlor, Holly Dwyer, Joslin Esttafian-Mimi, Alex Cullen Phillips, James Cullen Phillips, Conor Cullen, Stephen Furlong Crean and Daniel Lawlor.
