Young dad faces fifteen charges

AT LEAST 15 charges were waiting for Caleb McKay of 33A Ferndale Park in Wexford when he attended last Wednesday's sitting of the District Court in Gorey. The list included counts of trespass, burglary, theft, criminal damage, driving without insurance and possession of herbal cannabis.

A probation report on the 21-year-old father of two was available to Judge Gerard Haughton. Solicitor Dermot Davis felt it was positive that his client was attending the Cornmarket Project, in Gorey rather than Wexford in order to avoid his former associates.

Mr. Davis also noted that McKay had not come to the adverse attention of the Gardaí since last September. The defendant was due to be sentenced in another matter next September, the solicitor noted.

The District Court charges stand adjourned to November 7 pending the outcome of the case in the higher court.
