Young mum accused of assault with high heels
ABRAKEBABRA SECURITY GUARD SAYS HE WAS HIT
A YOUNG MOTHER has been charged with assaulting a security guard at a fast food restaurant with a high heeled shoe.
Nicola Nolan, of Redshire Road, Murrintown, appeared before Wexford District Court on Monday charged with assaulting causing harm to Pat O'Rourke at Abrakebabra at North Main Street on January 23, 2010.
Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla heard a brief outline of the State's evidence to determine if he would accept jurisdiction in the case or refer it to a higher court.
Inspector Pat McDonald said that at 2.30 a.m. on the morning in question the Gardaí received a call from Abrakebabra about an assault on Mr O'Rourke, the security guard there.
Mr O'Rourke told the Gardaí that a female had assaulted him with a high heeled shoe, causing an injury that required three stitches. 'He made a good recovery?' asked Judge O Buachalla. ' He did,' replied Inspector McDonald.
The judge accepted jurisdiction in the case and Sharon Cooney was appointed to represent Nolan on legal aid after she informed the court that the 24year-old mother of one is unemployed.
The case was adjourned until July 18 next for the defendant to indicate what way she intends to deal with the assault charge.
Nolan also faces charges of public drunkenness and acting in a threatening, abusive or insulting manner, arising out of the same incident.
