When you open the Pandora's box of nineties hits, few will get people bouncing like Coolio's 'Gangsta's Paradise'. Didn't everyone have that friend who could recite the whole song from start to finish with an astonishing level of enthusiasm?

Well last week The Crown Live announced a major coup as they're set to host the Compton rapper for a special show on Friday, June 14. A genuine legend of 90s hip-hop, Coolio achieved massive success with his albums 'It Takes a Thief', 'Gangsta's Paradise' and 'My Soul'. While the Stevie Wonder inspired 'Gangsta's Paradise' is clearly his best known tune, Coolio was also behind such hits as 'C U When U Get There', 'Fantastic Voyage', '1,2,3,4 (Sumpin' New)' and for Nickelodeon fans - the theme tune to 'Kenan & Kel'.

More recently, Coolio appeared on Celebrity Big Brother where he had a couple of high profile bust ups with fellow house-mates. However, lately the Grammy Award winner has been getting back to his music and touring extensively with a full live band.

Tickets for the Wexford show are priced at €24 plus fees and are available from The Crown or online at www.ticketweb.ie. They are expected to sell fast, so be sure to get in early.
