COLÁISTE ABBAIN, Adamstown, pulled out all the stops in the famous St. Abban's Hall when they produced a breath-taking production of 'The Field' by John B. Keane.

Under the directorship of Paul Walsh from Wexford Drama Group, this Irish classic came to life despite the fact that this was a first venture for the entire cast.

School Principal Senan Lillis of Wayside Players took to the stage as the hardened farmer the 'Bull' McCabe with Stewart Murphy appearing alongside him as his son Taghd .

The role of Mick Flanagan, the local auctioneer and owner of the village pub, was taken on by Mark Murphy, while the part of the rich businessman William Dee who arrived in Carraigthomond to bid on the field was fulfilled by Paul Walsh.

Dean Barnwell appeared as Fr. Murphy, Bradley Rochford performed the part of Sergeant Leahy, while the role of Bird O'Donnell was taken on by Stephen O' Sullivan.

Mrs. Butler's character was performed by Geraldine Sweeney, Mamie Flanagan's part was filled by Aisling Whelan and the parts of Leamy and Dandy were fulfilled by Aaron O' Brien and Kyle Butler respectively.

Also at the helm of this production was Annette Wall, formerly of Enniscorthy Theatre Group, who was the Stage Manager, while lighting and sound were looked after by Pip Murphy and Pat Jackman of Wexford Drama Group.
