Chitty Chitty Bang Bang wheeling into Wexford
Wexford Light Opera Society is flying high this week with the news that they are one of the select few musical societies in Ireland who have been awarded the performing rights to the spectacular fun filled smash hit musical 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
Filled with amazing stage spectacle and an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers, this 'truly scrumptious' musical features songs such as: Doll on a Music Box, Me Ol Bamboo, Truly Scrumptious, Hushabye Mountain and of course the Academy Award nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
It will provide the large cast of WLOS with opportunities for true stage magic, making it a challenging but highly rewarding choice of production for 2019.
The musical which is suitable for all the family will be directed by Pat McElwain from Dublin who won Best Director at this year's AIMS festival.
Nicole McDonald will return as choreographer, Fintan Cleary returns as musical director, Eithne Corrigan returns as chorus mistress and Colin Murphy returns as stage manager.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will run in the National Opera House Wexford from April 29 to May 4, 2019.
An information meeting will take place in November after the Opera Festival and the Society's Hits
