Choirs in concert of sacred music

Wexford Festival Singers will join with Enniscorthy Choral Society and the Musici Ireland Quartet to present a special choral concert in Rowe Street Church on Palm Sunday.

The concert will feature the sacred music masterpiece Stabat Mater by the Italian composer Pergolesi (1710- 1736), as well as Agnus Dei by the Wexford composer Liam Bates.

Agnus Dei is one movement from an oratorio called Victus which the Festival Singers plan to commission from Liam.

The concert will take place in Rowe Street on Sunday, April 14 at 3.30 p.m. Conducted by Dr. Kevin O'Carroll, it will feature soloists Róisín O'Grady (soprano) and Sandra Wickham (contralto).
