While Tops competitions may be something that are confined to the past at this stage, they survive in name at least as the Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour (KRH) Tops Community Group continues to grow.

The KRH Tops Group took their many talents to the stage at St Patrick's Church, Rosslare last week as they hosted their second annual community concert.

'I'm a firm believer that a nice concert is always good for community morale,' said organiser Bernie Mullen. 'As well as that, it's great to raise a few bob for local groups. Last year we did it for the graveyard renovation and this year we decided the money would go to the Rosslare Harbour-Kilrane Village Renewal Team.'

While the weather raged outside and talk turned to an impending Storm Lorenzo, those who braved the elements were treated to a great evening of entertainment from the Tops Group, along with special guests George Lawlor, Tony Carty, Fintan Cleary and the Bride Street Folk Group, all of whom delivered stunning performances.

'Our guests were so good,' said Bernie. 'We were really pleased with how things went and there was a standing ovation at the end of it, which is always a good sign. The evening raised €400 in the end and every penny counts.'
