Con Tempo Quartet comes to town

THE GALWAY MUSIC RESIDENCY, the Con Tempo Quartet, together with young Kilkenny guitarist Alec O'Leary, are taking to the road to bring some Latin heat and a taste of the Mediterranean to Wexford audiences.

The tour will arrive in St. Iberius Church in Wexford on Thursday, September 29, for a concert at 8 p.m. in partnership with Music for Wexford. Earlier that day both Alec and Con Tempo will visit Presentation School on Grogan's Road to give the local children a workshop. They will also visit St. Iberius National School in Wexford the next morning before leaving Wexford for Galway.

The programme features music from celebrated Spanish, Italian, Argentinean and Brazilian composers. With music from Baroque, Romantic, Classical, Twentieth Century and Contemporary composers, these concerts are sure to have something to suit all tastes with favourites such as the award winning Stanley Myers, Cavatina and Boccherini's Fandango Quintet providing extra special treats for audience members on the night.
