Exciting exhibition by 2nd year art college students

The Back Yard is the title of an exciting group exhibition by second year Fine Art students at the Wexford Campus School of Art and Design at Carlow IT.

The exhibition features the work of Amanda Usher, Lucy Vigne Welsh, Shannon Gleeson, Sinead Griffey, Leon Doyle, Eimear Murphy, Alan Davies, Kim Murphy, Una Murphy, Tiola Rafferty and Angela Sanina.

Members of the public can see the display in the School of Art and Design at Hill Street (in the old County Hall building) until Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

A private viewing for family and friends, was held on Tuesday evening with an address by guest speaker Melanie Meyler, the local actress and drama facilitator.

The artworks explore various ideas of gesture and movement with the students having created and collected objects and images which, when presented together, form a rich tapestry of connections and shared inspiration.
