Family-friendly Wexford VW Stages Rally

The Wexford stages rally, with Volkswagen as its main sponsor for the next five years, will have a very different look this year, with a family-friendly festival in the town and the rally as its centrepiece.

The 2016 Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally is due to take place over the weekend of September 10-11.

Wexford Motor Club Chairman Graham Scallan said he was delighted that Volkswagen Wexford had agreed to team-up with the event to showcase the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally.

'This is one of the most significant financial developments ever announced for Wexford Motor Club, and the achievement of our first major milestone in our development programme,' he said.

With a clear vision to strengthen and promote safe motoring and motorsport in Wexford, and Ireland as a whole, Wexford Volkswagen in partnership with Wexford Motorclub, Wexford County Council and other stakeholders aim to build an annual family friendly event/festival in the town with the Rally as its centrepiece.

The event will act as both a point of entertainment for the town, county and country as well as an open invitation for people of all ages to get involved in motorsport through the correct channels with the right support.
