A night of music and fun which sought to increase support for mental health organisations in Wexford has raised over €2,000 for two of the town's most deserving organisations.

The brainchild of local woman, Ingrid Butler, You Matter! saw local bands offer their services free of charge, performing in front of a large crowd at Sinnott's Bar on Friday evening last.

Point Blank were the headline act on a night which raised €2,036, all of which will now be shared equally between Wexford Marine Watch and It's Good 2 Talk Counselling Services.

Discussing her motivation for organising the event, Ingrid said, 'I chose to do the gig to raise funds for two vital organisations in town and I really wanted to push awareness of It's Good 2 Talk and Marine Watch who are visible every evening. The name is simple yet effective and sometimes you do forget that "You Matter". I will definitely organise a fundraiser for these charities in the future.'

Thanking Point Blank for their generosity, Ingrid paid tribute to Liam Sinnott and the staff in Sinnott's for supplying the venue for the evening. She also thanked Nicola Reddy and all the businesses who donated raffle prizes for the event.

Lastly she offered thanks to 'all my friends and family who have helped me when I needed a hand in the run up to the night as well as showing up on the night to support it.'
