Gisele at Wexford Opera House
MALE MEMBERS of Cork City Ballet in risque pose as they rehearse for their forthcoming production of the full length ballet Gisele at Wexford Opera House.
The acclaimed ballet company will present one Wexford performance only, on Monday, November 21 at 8 p.m.
Giselle is the poignant and tragic love story of a peasant girl who dies and comes back from the dead to save her lover.
The title role will be danced by the Russian ballet star Ekaterina Bortyakova who will be partnered by her husband Akzhol Mussakhanov.
The Irish ballerine Monica Loughman and the leading Spanish ballerine Andrew Palacios will appear in principal roles along with soloists and the full corps de ballet from Cork City Ballet.
The show will be directed by the company's artistic director Alan Foley.
The production has been reproduced for Cork City Ballet by Yuri Demakov who trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow.
Prepare to be enthralled by the original choreography of Marius Petipa, Jean Corelli and Jules Perrot and stunning costumes made at the Kirove theatre in Russia.
