Inclusive atmosphere as Vibes provides a great night for all!
For adults with intellectual disabilities, opportunities to let their hair down and dance the night away can unfortunately be few and far between. To help with this a fantastic new initiative took centre stage at Wexford Arts Centre.
In association with DJ Ronan Buggy of Jilted Generations, the Arts Centre hosted a wonderful dance and live art night called 'Vibes 2019' which aimed to provide an opportunity for all to get together in a fun, safe and high energy atmosphere.
Working alongside Ronan on the night were DJs Sarah Wright and Genna Connors from Windmill, helping to choose the music and videos for the evening to create a really stimulating experience for those in attendance.
The DJ was in fine form and it provided a memorable night for those in attendance, dancing the night away and even getting to try their hand and the decks themselves!
This was not the first occasion that has seen Wexford Arts Centre provide entertainment for people with intellectual disabilities either.
It follows on from a hugely successful Cabaret Night that took place as part of the Arts Ability Programme.
It is hoped that 'Vibes' dance nights will now become a regular feature, modelled on the 'That's Life' arts, leisure and personal development programme in Galway, to provide real inclusive, vibrant social opportunities for all.
