Lady's Island concert a huge success
THE FIRST COURTYARD CONCERT in Our Lady's Island proved to be a great success recently.
Organised as a joint fundraising venture between Our Lady's Island Parish and GAA Club, the stars of the show were the Three Irish Tenors, Ciaran Nagle, Dominic McGorian and Tony Norton.
There were well over 500 people at the concert, which also featured the considerable talents of Wexford's Male Voice Choir.
The illuminated Norman castle provided a beautiful backdrop for this outdoor concert for which people came well prepared for the wind, with hats, scarves and gloves, while there was even the odd blanket and duvet!
The Three Irish Tenors and the Wexford Male Voice Choir, enchanted enthralled the rapt audience with a mixture of classical, liturgical and Celtic songs, from Carrickfergus to Ireland's Call and Boolavogue to Ave Maria. A spokesperson for the hard-working committee said that following the success of the fundraiser they are already busy making plans for next year's Courtyard Concert.
