An exhibition at an art studio in Liverpool is inspired by the heritage of Wexford where the artist Jean Maskell is a frequent visitor.

The exhibition entitled 'From Stream to Sea' is taking place at Rathbone Studio in Argyle Street, Birkenhead until the end of June and is Jean's second show exploring the beauty of Wexford.

The diverse exhibition features haunting photographs of Ferrycarrig at dawn, pastels of the seas around Hook, wildlife ceramics and poetry. 'There is a lot of interest in Liverpool in Irish culture', said the artist. 'I enjoy promoting Wexford through art and poetry. The Denis Collins Gallery has been very supportive', she said. Jean worked with animator Rachel McMahon to produce a short film, 'Crossing To Ireland', which has been highly commended by Liverpool's Celtic Animation Festival and recently shown as part of the Tall ships' Regatta.
