Up to 60 students were presented with certificates to mark the completion of their Post Leaving Certificate courses at Selskar College at a ceremony in the Riverbank House Hotel.

The students, who had studied QQI Level 5 courses in a range of subjects including health care, childcare, applied social studies, nursing, business studies, art, hospitality and tourism, had the chance to don caps and gowns and receive their awards from their course tutors.

College principal Emer Ryan congratulated all students on their achievements, wishing them the best for their future studies.

The ceremony was followed by a function, with music and finger food.

Tutor Teresa O'Reilly explained that quite a large contingent of the group had gone on to take up college places, while others had secured jobs. Most of the students, she said, were from the immediate Wexford vicinity, with a handful coming from north of the county.

They were, she added, a mixed group who had grown into a tight-knit one by the end of the year.
