Renowned choir set for Clonard show
The renowned Swindon Male Voice Choir are set to make the journey across the Irish Sea for a special performance in Clonard Church.
The group, consisting of some 40 members, is travelling to Wexford specially to perform at a concert in aid of Wexford's Able Disabled Club on July 28.
The choir, which is celebrating its centenary year, first travelled to Wexford some nine years ago and formed a great connection with their counterparts The Wexford Male Voice Choir. Through Terry Byrne in the Wexford group, they've made plans to return for the weekend and are looking forward to a special night of music where they will be joined by Tony Carty.
'We're delighted to have them,' said Tony Murphy of Wexford Able Disabled Club. 'They got in touch with Terry Byrne and said they wanted to do a concert for a local cause, so he put them in touch with us. They're supposed to be a brilliant choir and it promises to be a great night.'
Tickets for the show are priced at €10 and are available now from the parish office in Clonard, Doyle's Londis in Ferndale or from any Wexford Able Disabled committee member.
