Rosslare is holding first jazz festival at weekend
Rosslare Community Development Association is delighted to announce a brand-new three-day festival, which will take place this weekend.
The Rosslare Jazz Festival promises free musical entertainment in a number of venues and promises a musical range to keep everyone's toes tapping.
The festival will get under way on Thursday, July 25, at 9 p.m. with a house band and jazz jam session at Redmond's The Bay.
On Friday, Rosslare Golf Club will play host to the acclaimed Dave Jones Trio, who will play in the bar from 9:30 p.m.
With a catalogue of albums, the most recent being 'Resonance' in 2012, Dave is well known across the UK and Ireland, with his music frequently featuring on radio shows such as RTÉ's 'The Blue of the Night' and Jazz FM.
With Kevin Lawlor on drums and David Duffy on bass, the Rosslare Jazz Festival is delighted to join the prestigious list of festivals the Dave Jones Trio has performed at worldwide.
Saturday, July 27, is the final day of this mini musical festival and organisers aim to finish on a high with two performances throughout the day.
At 2 p.m. in Kelly's Hotel the legendary Phil Ware Duo will play, while at 8 p.m. at the Cedar's Hotel local band Cuba Libre will take advantage of the sizzling weather to play an outdoor set of fiery Afro-Cuban music, samba music and Latin jazz.
Organisers say that the festival could become an annual musical treat for Wexford.
