Texaco Art winners' exhibition takes centre stage in Gorey
The opening of the Market House Festival at Gorey Civic Centre took place from 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 with special guest Naoise Hennessy, winner of the Texaco Children's Art competition who opened the festival as well as an exhibition.
A total of 37 winning paintings will be on display, and the exhibition will remain open to the public until September 1 and admission is free.
'Gorey and Wexford has a proud tradition in this area and we also want to invite previous winners of the Texaco Children's Art Competition to the opening. Our thanks goes to Valero Energy, who have made the exhibition available to us, and Bronagh Carron for her assistance,' said District Manager Amanda Byrne.
Some Wexford special merit winners of the competition this year, included Sadhbh Quinn, Benjamin Blair from Gorey Central School, Maya Rubin-Rahn from Gorey Educate Together National School and Áine Gunning from Kilmore National School.
