Backlog is a given
It's interesting to note that the local C.C.C.C. are going ahead with as many second round hurling championship games as they can next weekend.
In the past they tended to wait until the full block of matches in the round could be played together, but that never made sense to us.
Play what you can, whenever you can, is surely the better option, and this is what's happening from Thursday through to Sunday.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to play any Senior or Intermediate games due to inter-county commitments, so the backlog from late August through to God knows when will be even more pronounced this year.
Four of the six IAHC matches will take place, with Fethard, Liam Mellows and Tara Rocks unable to field due to Wexford's football game against Monaghan.
It's the same in the JHC, with two-thirds of the games able to go ahead but Gusserane, Clongeen and Rosslare are county-tied.
Five JAHC ties will be played, with only St. Fintan's unavailable.
