Death of G.A.A. stalwart
The Wexford G.A.A. community was saddened to hear of the sudden death of Justin Prendergast.
A native of Oulart, Justin took ill while out jogging with his wife on Curracloe beach on Saturday evening, and died a short time later. A forensic accountant, now living in Dublin, he was hugely involved in the G.A.A. with a particular love for his native county.
He was Chairman of the Wexford G.A.A. Supporters' Club (Dublin branch) where he made a huge contribution, along with his fellow Model county members, to the Association in the county.
More recently he was one of County Chairman Diarmuid Devereux's nominees to the special committee to carry out a thorough review of Minor hurling in the county and to report back to the County Board.
At the time of his sudden passing he was Secretary of the committee whose members had met as recently as Thursday evening last.
When news filtered through on Sunday evening of his sudden passing there was much sadness in Gaelic games circles throughout the county.
Sympathy is extended to his wife, family, relatives and friends.
