The All-Ireland Junior ladies' football champions of 2014 will receive their national medals this Friday in the Ferrycarrig Hotel at 8pm. After a year to remember for the purple and gold team, a great night is in store.

On September 28 the girls won Wexford's first-ever All-Ireland title at adult level and it took an heroic effort to see off a brave New York challenge, with the Model county winning out by 1-12 to 1-10.

The aftermath of the victory has left players and management alike with memories that they will never forget. Friday night will bring down the curtain on the amazing win last year, with the 2015 league only around the corner as the opening game against Waterford is on February 1 in Waterford.

A lot of people will be thanked on the night for their work with Wexford ladies' football over the past few years, including the players, the management team led by Billy Donnelly, and members of the County Board and clubs within the county.

The Junior title won in 2014 will be remembered and is a giant step forward for everyone involved with Wexford.

The medal presentation night will begin with the launch of a book to commemorate the success in 2014 written by Noel Holohan with photographs by Michael Cullen. The book called 'It's All About Pace' captures the images and stories of the season with reports on all the games from league right up the final win over New York.

Following this will be a three-course dinner and after that President of ladies' football, Pat Quill, will present the All-Ireland medals to the girls. Music will follow the presentation and a great night is in store. Tickets are available from all clubs or can be ordered directly from county Secretary Andrea Cooney-Rowe on 086-8513563.
