Organisers of Féile Peil express their gratitude

Seen and Heard

To all Wexford G.A.A. members, we salute you.

On behalf of the organising committee for Féile na nÓg 2015, we wish to thank most sincerely every club and club member in County Wexford for the help and assistance that each and every one of you gave to ensure that the recent Irish Pride Féile na nÓg was a tremendous success.

On the weekend of June 24-26, 174 boys' teams, 75 girls' teams, 5,500 players and an estimated 30,000 family, friends and supporters descended on the south-east and it proved to be a tremendous boost for the local communities and businesses.

Teams from Scotland, England and the U.S. also travelled to the sunny south-east for this competition. It is estimated to have been worth €5 million to the local economy. Well done to everybody.

We wish to thank all the clubs for the use of their facilities and to thank all families from the clubs for literally opening the doors of their homes as host families. Many clubs spent a lot of time improving their facilities to ensure that they were in top shape for Féile.

Local club organising committees met on numerous occasions to ensure that the hospitality afforded to visiting teams, and reported back to the committee, was outstanding. It has been an event that will live long in the memories of everybody involved.

To all, who in any way helped to prepare for this massive weekend, we thank you. All Wexford Gaels can be proud of what they achieved.

We look forward to Féile na nGael, the Under-14 hurling competition, coming to the south-east in 2017. Go raibh maith agaibh uile.

Is muidne le meas,

Marguerite Furlong, Assistant Chairperson organising committee

Gerry Moran, Assistant Secretary organising committee.
