Rory and Seamus make team of year
Seen and Heard
Wexford's contribution to an entertaining Bord Gáis Energy Under-21 hurling campaign has been reflected in the selection of two attackers on the team of the year.
Rory O'Connor from St. Martin's was given the number 11 jersey on the side, while he is deservedly joined by Oylegate-Glenbrien's Seamus Casey who was named at left corner-forward.
Although Tipperary turned the tables on them in the All-Ireland final after a one-sided Munster decider earlier, Cork still emerge with the most players on the side.
Along with their sextet, there's five from the Premier county plus two apiece from the beaten semi-finalists, Wexford and Galway.
Wexford had been pushed all the way by Dublin in the Leinster semi-final before coming extremely close to defeating Galway in an epic decider in Portlaoise that required extra-time to decide.
Unfortunately, they flopped in their All-Ireland penultimate round loss to Cork in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.
O'Connor has already featured with the county in the last two Senior championship campaigns, and Casey - scorer of 3-4 in his club's recent semi-final defeat to Naomh Eanna - is likely to be given a chance to impress in the 2019 league.
