Wexford contested the All-Ireland Under-16 'A' camogie semi-final versus Cork in Walsh Park, Waterford, on Sunday. Unfortunately, this group of girls lost to last year's All-Ireland finalist by 2-10 to 2-5.

Wexford put in a tremendous performance throughout the game, with scores coming from Katie Murphy (two) in the first-half, plus one from Katie Bates from play, and Aoife O'Connor added one free.

Having conceded a goal to Cork early on, the scoreline stood at 1-8 to 0-4 at half time in the Munster side's favour.

Wexford's never-say-die attitude was certainly to be seen all through, led by the joint-captain Miria O'Dowd at full-back.

And when Aoife O'Connor struck a 21-yard free to the back of the net, Wexford and started to gain confidence.

Emma Tomkins was a threat throughout and her distribution led to many Wexford attacks, and she got a point for herself.

However, Cork held on and will contest the final after winning out on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-5, with the consolation goal coming in the closing minutes from another well-taken 21-yard free by Aoife O'Connor.
