St. Peter's (Wexford) made the most of their second chance when they recorded an impressive seven-point win over St. Brigid's of Loughrea in the Masita All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Senior hurling 'A' championship quarter-final in Ashbourne on Saturday, March 14.

The beaten Leinster finalists now face the acid test against Dr. Harty Cup winners Thurles C.B.S. in the penultimate round which is down for decision on Saturday, March 21.

After a tight first 20 minutes when the sides were level five times, St. Peter's pulled away from their rivals with five unanswered points to lead by 0-10 to 0-5 at the break.

The gap was never less than six points after team captain Joe O'Connor added another score within seconds of the re-start, and the only concern for Peter's was the high wide count of eleven in the second-half.

Scorers for the winners were Joe O'Connor (0-4), Billy Dunne (0-4, 3 frees), Rory O'Connor (0-3), Rowan White and Jack Pettit (0-2 each), Jake Firman and Conor Hearne (0-1 each).
