Leonards, Kilmore edge clear of pack
ST. LEONARDS and Kilmore United landed almost identical blows last weekend as they cemented their status as Division 1 title contenders.
Both sides struck four goals as they edged further clear of the chasing pack. St. Leonards faced Adamstown and safely negotiated their way to a 4-2 win. Ken Cahill bagged a brace for the saints and he was joined on the scoresheet by Fintan Ryan. An own goal accounted for their other effort.
Kilmore United enjoyed a slightly less troubling result as they racked up four goals, but without reply. Shane Connolly and Paul Murphy both notched doubles for the Ballyseskin side to keep them on the coat-tails of Leonards.
Shamrock Rovers B complete the make-up of the top three but they lost ground on the top two after only managing a point from their match against Ajax Athletic. Rovers took the lead twice through Seán Wildes and and David Kearney but Tomás Mahon rained on their parade as he grabbed two equalisers for the hosts to earn his side a point.
