A feast of boxing
Packed house for quality fare at Ashfield House Hotel
A packed crowd turned up to the Ashfield House Hotel to see some of Wexford's best boxing talent and they were not disappointed with the quality on display.
Boxers from all the local clubs traded punches with boxers from Kilkenny, Tipperary and Wicklow, also on what was a attractive card.
One of the best bouts of the show was between Clonard's Evan Gillen and Brian Murphy of Paulstown B.C.
Both lads gave their all in a fight that ebbed and flowed with both boxers getting the upper hand throughout the fight with Murphy winning on a split decision, following three top class rounds.
Shane Dooley and Dean Walsh served up a terriffic bout that oozed class over the three round no-decision bout that showed their standing in the sport.
Matilda Meaney and Laura Crowley showed that the girls are not to be left behind with a thrilling contest with Crowley getting the nod.
This show was a great way to end 2017 in Wexford boxing, and if these standards can be matched next year, 2018 promises to be exciting.
