Barron fills second

THE LEINSTER Senior 10 km road race championships were held in Galbally on Sunday last, and the following are the results of the men's and ladies' races. The event was organised by Bree A.C.

The Munster indoor track and field championships were held in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, on Sunday last and there was Wexford representation.

Antoinette Stafford took part in the Senior ladies' long jump and she won gold and in the process recorded a new Irish Masters national record in the V1 category of 5.61m.

Eva Murphy (D.M.P.) was second in the Junior ladies' 60m race.

The Ballycotton ten miles road race was held on Sunday last and again proved most popular, with over 2,300 competitors completing the classic distance.

Paul Gibbons was first Wexford man home in 44th place with a time of 59.01. Billy Reck (Slaney Olympic) ran 1.03.39, Eugene Doherty (S.B.R.) 1.06.06, Bobby Redmond (S.O.) 1.06.21, Pat O'Sullivan (S.O.) 1.06.30, Pat Hyland (S.O.) 1.06.56, Pat O'Neill (S.B.R.) 1.08.38, Michael Nolan (S.O.) 1.09.34, Mick Morrissey (S.O.) 1.09.55, Joe Millar (S.O.) 1.11.48, Bill Kavanagh (S.O.) 1.12.40, Ger Dempsey (S.O.) 1.13.50, Fergus Murphy (S.O.) 1.14.23, Paul Murphy (S.O.) 1.15.01, Tomás Leacy (S.O.) 1.17.30, John Murphy (S.O.) 1.19.39, Anita Bowe (S.O.) 1.21.03.
