Chris and Kathleen to represent Ireland

THE FOLLOWING members have gone through to the next round in the two woods competition (to be played before July 15):

George Watson v. Roz Mordaunt; Kathleen Cuffe v. Aidan Mahon; Kevin Kent v. Richard Winters; Paul Farrell v. Seán O'Neill.

Men's singles competition (this round to be played before July 15) - quarter-finalists: George Watson v. Jamie Hynes; Maurice McCarthy v. Kevin Rowley; Michael Sutherland v. Richard Winters; Ken Murphy v. Harry Marshall.

Ladies' singles first round to be played by July 15: Jean Goold v. Betty Kent; Helen Bolton v. Roz Mordaunt; Kathleen Cuffe v. Chris Naughton; Teresa Marshall v. Marian Farrell.

Ladies through to the semi-finals of the ladies' pairs competition are: Kathleen Cuffe and Chris Naughton v. Betty Kent and Jean Goold; Helen Bolton and Marian Farrell v. Roz Mordaunt and Ann Cullen.

The mixed trips and mixed pairs matches outstanding must be played before June 30.

In the L.B.L.I. competitions, Kathleen Cuffe, Roz Mordaunt and skip Chris Naughton played on Monday against Neli Kazaine, Valerie Doddy and Olive Bates from Kenilworth in Kenilworth Bowls Club, in the Junior Trips match.

Kathleen Cuffe plays in the second round of the ladies' singles against Florence Murphy from Aer Lingus in Aer Lingus B.C. on Wednesday, June 20.

Chris Naughton plays Margaret Smyth from Greystones B.C. in Greystones on Thursday, June 21, also in the second round of ladies' singles.

Chris Naughton and Kathleen Cuffe are also playing on the L.B.L.I. Republic of Ireland team and will travel to Belfast to play against three Associations in Northern Ireland on Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30, in Belmont Bowling Club.

Jamie Hynes has been invited to take part in the trials for the Republic of Ireland Under-25 team, and we wish him well in his endeavours.
