Dog track will be buzzing this week

This will be a big week for Enniscorthy greyhound track with fundraisers to support the track, and there is great entertainment on offer apart from on-track action.

There will be a donkey derby on Sunday night celebrating 83 years of racing, a free draw for the chance to win €1,000 and lots of other activities for the whole family, so for a great night's entertainment, Enniscorthy greyhound track is the place to be this Thursday and Sunday.

There are several finals featured on Sunday and the semi-finals of these stakes saw some very nice runs on Thursday.

Bing David ran a fine race for Rosslare man Vincent Morris. Having run well in a final in Waterford recently, he made no mistake here as he ran right away with his semi race seven to score in a best of the night 28.94, and he looks a nice prospect for the future.

The Brian Madigan-trained Dromana Scampi has been in great form and he showed his battling qualities in race eight, the semi-final, and will take beating in his final.

The Nick Turner-trained Vaz Te went quicker in the other semi and has experience on his side and will make him work hard I'm sure.

On Monday night there was also some very good runs recorded, with Ballinclare Earl showing nice pace down the back to go on to take race five for Eilish McCann in 29.10.

The semi-finals of the Chanelle Prazitel XL A2 stake featured and two very impressive winners emerged. Firstly Father Ned showed his pace when showing good early form to lead and beat favourite Daytime Dazzler snugly in a fast 28.78.

The second semi saw Mango Mars go even faster when he flew out of the traps to leave his field trailing to score by two lengths from the strong-finishing Kiltrea Socks in a very fast 28.60.
